Michele Turnure-Salleo heads the San Francisco Film Society’s Filmmaker360 department and oversees grants, residencies and project development programs. She works with hundreds of filmmakers nationwide through the project development & fiscal sponsorship program and helps them step-by-step through the process of getting their film funded, made and seen. From 2009 through 2013, the SFFS grants program will provide more than 3 million dollars in funding to incubate and support innovative and exceptional films. Films supported include Circumstance, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Mosquita Y Mari, Match+, Teenage Wasteland and Cutie and the Boxer. Project development films include Connected: An Autoblogography about Love, Death & Technology, We Were Here, Test and Here. Turnure-Salleo is a producer and director with over 17 years experience in the United States, Australia, France and Canada. As an independent producer, and later as a staff producer for the Banff Center for the Arts, Associate Director of Film Arts Foundation, and in her current position as Director of Filmmaker360, she has helped guide hundreds of independent film projects through development, production and distribution. Additionally Turnure-Salleo was associate producer on the Oscar nominated Regret to Inform. She has also taught extensively in the U.S. and abroad and has served on funding and award panels nationally. Michele Turnure-Salleo holds a BFA in Film from the University of New South Wales and a MFA in Film from the University of British Columbia.
