Join filmmaker and SFFS Artist in Residence Anna Boden—Half Nelson (2006), Sugar (2008), It’s Kind of a Funny Story (2010)—for a moderated discussion on casting and working with first-time actors. Boden will discuss the rehearsal process, coaching techniques and share strategies that she and her partner Ryan Fleck used to create comfortable, non-threatening environments for first-time actors Shareeka Epps (Half Nelson) and Algenis Perez-Soto (Sugar), among others. SF Film Society Executive Director Ted Hope will moderate the discussion.
