Ji-li, a twelve-years-old happy girl suddenly had her world up-side-down when the Cultural Revolution started. Through her eyes, we will see her family’s persecution and her own experience from being an outstanding student to an outcast, facing the most dreadful decision: to denounce her father in public or sacrifice her own future. The narrative, photos, footage old and new will unfold the frightening history not only of Ji-li’s family but the whole country in pain.

Through one man's amazing journey, we will experience the rich panorama of American regional music.
